97 Suburban SLT 2WD, 206K miles. New tandem axle, dual brake, 7K rated 18' flatbed trailer. Total investment: $5500.
Just got back from a race in Seattle yesterday. Lots of hills on I-5 and she does just fine.
The pic is from her first race at Portland two weeks ago.

How about a follow-up question...
Where do you store your trailer??
Mine's at a police impound lot and I pay $185/month for the privilege...car is stored inside the trailer, which is parked outside.

I did choose the police impound lot (and towing company) because who would be stupid enough to try and steal from the police impound lot, not knowing which of the trailers/RV's/vehicles is owned by the police department...

2007 Ford Explorer Sport Track V8, steel open trailer w/ full wood deck, 944S2:
During my last trip to Summit Point, W-Va (from Northern NJ), I averaged 14.8 mpg.

Lucky for me there is more than one police impound lot in the country, so it might take a while for said individual to find it, then figure out which one, then try to tow it away through the garage and gate with city police officers right there.

Yes it is the 6'6" short bed.
Trailer is 32' overall with 24' on floor.
I got a hitch ball that moves the trailer attachment back about 4-6", but the weight is still over the axle because of the way it attaches. Between that and the narrowed design on the front of the trailer, it works great.
They make gooseneck attachments that move the trailer back about 4-6" also, but the hitch I had installed had the ball attachment that took care of it. (B&W Hitches).

regarding trailer storage... I store my 24' encl at local gated lot at $35/mo. Typically try to hide it between two big trucks. If my car was done, I would NOT store it in trailer. ...after ~5 years of not being able to park non-racing cars in my garage, it will continue to live there.

I finally got around to taking some pics ...
Since I'm in the trailer business we generally order a trailer to use as a demo for the season and sell it. The trailer is intendend to show different options available as sometimes it's hard for potential customers to uderstand exactly what we're talking about. We've sold a couple of units and options on others because we were able to show different options in the flesh rather than from a description in a book.
Last season I used one of the older pickups, which we still have, to tow the trailer around. This year, I disposed of my Honda Pilot, bought a DD car and the company bought a new truck.
It tows exceptionally well with the Dual Cam weight distribution system with integrated sway control and factory brake controller.
2008 GMC 2500HD SLT Crew Cab Duramax 4x4 Pickup w/6speed Allison Auto Transmission
2007 28' Pace Shadow GT Daytona (in inventory if anybody wants it) with a pile of features:
- Daytona Pkg.
- Dometic 2 step awning (not available from the factory) w/no bars to position. Just unroll and you're done.
- Extruded aluminum floor
- Black aluminum cabinets with red integrated toolbox
- (2) foldable 4' tire racks
- 4000# winch w/remote & battery
- spare tire compartment in floor w/spare
- 54" triple tube extended tongue (easier to move around, back up etc.)
- extra wide door
- LED lights (all)
- 8 flushmount D-ring tie downs
- 3' extended flap so low cars (such as a certain GT3) don't scrape (1' planks are still required to get the nose high enough not to scrape)
- VHB seamless exterior (no screws)
It's a great trailer which tows very well with the truck.
