They just showed something interesting. Marco Andretti's HANS is not like every other HANS I've seen. The upright part behind the helmet seems a lot shorter than others, the horseshoe legs don't have any wings, the surface that the belts ride on is actually convex and there's no grip surface either....plus it's painted red. It's the only red thing on or in the car. I wonder what's going on there.

4 seconds a lap at Sebring is huge!
I heard it but didn't understand it when looking at live scoring.

Glad to see Audi having some troubles...

The red may be from the his regular drive. You are allowed to paint them.

Remember that all the cars he races in have belt mounts that have the ideal geometry for a HANS device. The shoulder belts mount just behind him and are very close together. You could see that when they are tight they go up the side of the device and don't dangle off the horseshoe legs like they do in most club racers.

I'm gonna guess that the lip and grip surface have shwon up because more and more people are using the HANS device in a situtions where teh belts aren't optimally mounted.

Dorsey Schroeder said Marco has taken T1 without lifting, sheesh!

Side note Bernhard's Spyder has a 10,000 RPM shift point; Marco's is shifting the Acura at 11,000 and not hitting the limiter. See if Timo let/s him by or puts up a fight.

I didn't like that "overheating call". #7 having the same problem that #6 had?

EDIT: oh, good, it was Marco. Perhaps his car can't really rev to 11k...

Gotta love all the driver names from around the world.

You guys can now call me Jacques Lueez!

Bummer on the #5 car penalty!

Do/will the Spyders need to change rotors in this race? Seems excessive for the TDI to need new rotors in <12 hours...
