I had a test day there on March 3 and can assure you that the pavement is still good! (It was a mild winter.) The red/white striping has not been restored yet, though.

Was just there last weekend in the rain and cold weather and can tell you that the track has alot of grip and the surface was very smooth. All the old markers are gone and you'll have to find new ones.

The only problem is the repaving where they widned the track it abruptly ends and there is no transition back to the rest of the track. In a DE environment you'll be fine but in a racing environment where inches count it will make for exciting times...

Pretty easy to learn, difficult to master. I'm still working on it after 4 years.

I'll be there.....

where did they widen the track?

Are the "old" red/white turtles still there or were they paved over?

The track was not actually widened--they just paved over where there was pavement before, even pavement that was covered in vegetation. That means, for example, that the track is wider until shortly after the braking zone for T1. Pretty strange. Most of the red and white has been paved over, but not all. There is a bit in T4 and T5. Where I really miss it is in T3 where the transition from track to kitty litter is much harder to see without the red and white paint.

You will see much larger sealant patches in T1, T6 and the other high-wear areas where there is concrete down there somewhere, but the grip over the sealant is a lot better than the sealant there before repaving.

You'll have fun. the grip is generally excellent.

It's hard to understand why they didn't do something over the winter to restore curbing outside of where they paved over the old red/white curbs. I know the paving job last fall was rushed in between events, so you can understand them not getting everything done in one shot, but they've certainly had every opportunity to make things right with so much good weather this past winter!

I'll be out there for the first time this year at the April Potomac event.

Summit point is in use year round. BSR does a lot of homeland security type training.

That said they should still do something to the abrupt drop offs and transitions
