So I'm reading your e-mail and thinking sh^t! he'll be at Nationals again. Then I read on and realize you won't and breathed a sigh of relief, then I read on and realized you might have the same issue I have with my motor.

I was doing a NASA race last weekend when the idle control arm went on the car. Made the same noise a rocker arm would have.... They say it's a "hardly ever breaks" item... Hope yours isn't much more than a rocker arm or chain tesioner or idle control arm.

Hope you get it back together and can still make it to Nationals. Well, sort of

Greg is in Greensboro. He also is one of the engineers with Stevenson (GT) so he is gone quite a bit during the Grand-Am race weekends.

The number over there at the shop is 336-209-6165

FYI....he is the ONLY person I let setup and maintain my car!

Almost Eddie. I have instructed Greg to make any car he sets up just a fraction slower than mine

Dell, I can't believe you're going to turn that beautiful car into a club racer... Are there many street GT3 race-prepared cars out there??

Not sure if there are many out there. The closest I have seen is the 997 C2S x51 Synergy Build cars. Those cars are virtually identical in terms of performance, etc.. I have run with several of them and they are very fast in the right hands. If I was starting from scratch I would have probably gone that way since they slot into GTB. The problem with a street GT3 is it slots NOWHERE if it has exceeded the stock/prepared class like mine. It just gets dumped into GTA which isn't fair at all. However, in NASA having the ratio of hp and weight then I can run GTS 4 or 5 depending on weight and tires.

As far as turning it into a club racer it will be more DE car than club racer but still run a small schedule of races. I have an absolute blast in the car, have learned it pretty well and am very comfortable in the cockpit. Why do you think a car like this shouldn't become a part-time racer? Thanks for the compliments

Only because of the points you made... Seems like it doesn't class very well in PCA... NASA sounds a lot better but that limits you... What would you have to do to get it into GTB???

Not sure, still looking into it. FIgured GTS4/5 is better than nothing at all! Then in time, we'll see where this takes me

Wow- Doing the class calculation my 69 2.5L with 225/50 tires would be GTS4.

Okay first I want to say I am not posting this to cause any trouble - it is simply what I have heard and nothing more. It is not from a biased person either. And I am simply asking for information purposes only - not to cause a debate.
I was told that the level of talent OVERALL is not as good as found in both PCA Club Racing and even more so in SCCA. Again this is from an OVERALL perspective - not meant as an insult to any individual driver! Can anyone with experience in both or all 3 organizations comment on this? One with a neutral perpective - not someone who wins or does very well in only one!
There are SOME very fast guys in PCA - especcially in the spec classes like GTC1 through GTC4 - even guys like Brent Martini run there at some races. SCCA has some VERY close competition.
Please comment without being dogmatic about it.
