Default In Honor of A. Wayne

I present you pictures of my son's new 2008 karting season helmet (graphics were done by Brad at Bullseye Visual, who did his helmet last season.....South Park graphics, this one is a bit more serious)

As you can see, the design was heavily influenced by Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen graphics and design.

His chassis for this season is a Maranello RS7 (yes, Maranello Italy, home of that "other" chassis company, you know, prancing horse....), painted of course in Ferrari Red.

We'll be at Homestead this weekend and next weekend for the first 2 rounds of the Florida Winter Tour (then 2 weekends at Moroso in February and the final 2 weekends at Ocala in March). Great opportunity for anyone interested in karting to experience karting, ask questions and watch some amazing young drivers.....ages 7 to 70.
(Scott and Alex Speed will be racing in the 125cc DD2 class...2 speed paddle shift, direct drive karts, along with Gary Carlton, Pierre Luc Oulette.....going to be great to watch)

(BTW, the lines on the visor are a Racing Optics perimeter seal shield protector stack http://racingoptics.com/html/Prod_ShieldProtect.htm , as the visor is a Iridium Red Caracoat visor..... which took me 3 months to find and cost me one kidney, so it's worth protecting. The visor is amazing in daylight, transitioning from red to gold to blue to green across the face of the visor... kids !)

Well, some of the Dads might dress up like that, but not the kids.

Lewis, when I read the title of this thread, I thought something had happened to our beloved A. Wayne. A tear almost came to my eye.

That is a SWEET helmet. Very nice graphics. You've inspired me to post pics of my daughter's helmet once the paint is finished this Saturday in time for the first regional kart race at California Speedway. Paint and scheme also inspired by the Cavalino and Michael Schumacher (with any luck it, once I post the pictures, A. Wayne will cough up a lung)

Good luck to your son!!

Good luck to CJ Lewis! Wish we could be there! Some of those new Jrs. who moved up were tough at Daytona.

Great looking helmet.
I have an 11 year old CJ that's racing a Cadet. Like most things he's outgrown it and we'll probably move up this season. I'm afraid to do a custom helmet for him as he grows so fast. How long do you think you will get out of this helmet?

I've been meaning to go and check out the ocala go-karting track, since it is only like 30 minutes from me.
