You can download the complete rFactor game free and try it before you buy it - http://www.rfactor.net/index.php?page=buyonline

If you buy it and the version isn't 1255, update to the latest version of rFactor - http://racecast.rfactor.net/download...55-UpdateF.zip

And here is where to get everything "rFactor", car mods, tracks, etc. etc.. -
http://www.rfactorcentral.com/index.cfm

And a direct link to the Porsche Carerra Cup 2007 mod - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=PCC%202007

It really is beautiful but the lack of tracks and mature online play is a killer for me (at least for now). I like the fact that I can drive on tracks that I can run in RL.. Watkins Glen, Limerock, Mid Ohio, Road Atlanta, Sebring, and just about any other track in existence.

Gary,

My son has the XBOX 360 and we usually go at it with Forza but unfortunately, Forza does not have local tracks. Do you know of any sims that have local tracks? I have no knowledge of PC sim racing but this sounds interesting.

rFactor has just about every track and every type of car. Want to race Mini's at Limerock? No problem. BMW's at Watkins Glen? Yep. 997 Porsche Cups at Mid Ohio? sure nuff... and on and on it goes.. See the links below and you can get an idea of the extent of it..

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/list.cfm?cat=Cars - Page one of FIFTEEN pages of available car mods (144)!

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/list.cfm?cat=Tracks - Page one of THIRTY-FOUR pages of tracks (335)!

So what was the sim I kept seeing at PRI? I didn't pay much attention, but it was a lot better than my old game of pong.

Could be this - http://www.iracing.com/

Not sure what "PRI" is but that sim is due out by summer 08 and will require a bit higher of an investment from what I can glean from there vague literature.

To think I used to like you.........

rFactor video at Nordschliffe, horrible quality (not that the GTR2 wasn't) but do a search on You Tube, lots of crappy videos there. Get the Demo's of the prioducts and see if your machine can even RUN them smoothly.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiXtSNluTRs

Fun video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaVIijigqIs
