Default SF Bay Area Porsche Racing Club Open Haus?

Many of you have heard of the SF Bay Area's Porsche Racing Club. We just finished our fifth season.

I want to get some idea of interest regarding a Porsche Racing Club Open Haus that we might try to organize for sometime in January. This would take place on a weekend day and be an informal gathering of existing and prospective participants.

We'd try to hold it a a place that is "car person friendly." For example one candidate location is in the southern part of the SF Bay Area where numerous factory race cars and engines can often be seen. We could possibly have some of our PRC cars available for display, including a few from our Spec 911 and/or GT Limited classes.

Those of us whom are active participants can share some perspective and information with those interested in perhaps giving it a try in the future.

Conceptualizing a pretty low key event-- nothing too formal or fancy.

Interest?

I should also add that I can likely talk Karen into doing a good catering spread. Obviously any non-alcoholic drinks are easily provided!

Still trying to put this together. Is there still interest amongst those in the SF Bay Area?

Mike: Isn't the first GGR time trial at Laguna Seca that weekend?

I'm interested if it doesn't clash with GGR or NASA. Weekend meet would suit me better too.

Sounds like fun. Can I bring my loser friend who just bought an NSX

BTW, can any of you guys recommend a shop between SF and SJ to do an install of a guard diff into a G50 tranny?

The GGR event is indeed sccheduled for Infineon on the subsequent weekend. As far as I know, Feb. 9 is clear of conflicts. I hope that the weather is good.

The location will be Smart Racing Products/Jerry Woods Enterprises in Campbell. Visits there often present the opportunity to view various factory 924, 935, 908 and even 962 machines undergoing restoration. OPretty cool stuff and excellent work. They have an excellent body shop too.

They can likely install a diff into a G50, or try Hayden and Tyson at WEVO in San Carlos. They do world class transmission work.

More details on the even will follow.
