Sean, one of the rod bearings went bad. #5, I think it was. Result is a complete rebuild. Only its turning into the 6 million dollar man version. "we can build him better than before..." Lets just say that Buckley is beefing up the reliability and robustness of the new engine. Should be a very strong engine when its done.

Jay, yesterday's video post is 14meg (most email systems would not take it). I can either crop it and scale it for email, or put a copy on a network drive where you can download it. Send me a private msg with your email address, and let me know which you pefer.

I think I have even more video from today with you in it.... might be on the front half... What a great time day we had, huh? It was fun learning the track as track conditions changed and the group as a whole picked up the pace. Gotta go back!

Quick!
That seemed like a pretty tight line all the way around 13 (looks like you stayed right after the trackout on 12). Did that have something to do with how your car could take that hill, or was that just your racing line? I tended to go down the middle after trackout at 12 and hit only the late apex of 13.

Amazingly, I made it home in 3.75 hrs. going the through Ft. Worth route. Traffic was light.

I have lots of good video that I'll post as soon as I can get it uploaded. Great weekend.

Yeah, the car stayed secured like Fort Knox.

Looks like the sort of track you would build if you had the land and a bit of spare cash. Plenty of runoff areas which is safer in my book. Is this a new track and where is it?

I've got some video I'll post later. The only thing I thought the track was missing is a high speed sweeper like Big Bend. Still, much better for racing...

I still can't tell if I got a cold or if it's my allergies, but I was just beat on Saturday and figured I would call it a weekend.

G.

I liked the track. I think we are going to try and get some seat time in the cup this weekend and then I can tell more but looks like its going to be a fun track. yeah I nice high speed sweeper would be nice but I think the track flows a lot better then MSR.

333,

Its a new track built just outside Ft Worth TX. This was the first public weekend at the track. Looks like its going to be a very nice facility there are some things that still need to be finished up but what they have done so far is top notch.

Great track. Sadly, it ate my differential in grand fashion yesterday, with Greg Smith in my right seat.

I guess 96,000 miles on the original diff is a lot.

Nice to see so many of you!

Sorry to hear that. Did it puke all over the track? My stock diff went at the 70K mile mark. Was it an LSD or open?

BTW, I've got some video of you....

Factory LSD. It puked all over the back opf my car + filled toe cabin with nasty smoke (a real surprise since the diff is behind the seats). I coasted back to the pits, but could not drive the car on the trailer. Greg's dad + sopme other guys were kind enough to help.

It had been making a funny off & on whine thru the weekend, including when you were there, but dumbass me attributed it to tire hum on the new surface. I backed off periodically, and it went away. Right before it grenaded, there was a slight vibration I felt, so I backed off like 1/4, but it went anyway.

I also figured out why I had so much ****ing understeer all weekend, no matter what I did: front sway was on full stiff. I realized this as I was tying the car down on the trailer. Wish I had figured this out on FRIDAY....
