Thank very much for the tip.

The chest pieces appear a little shorter than my factory unit. Could be just the pic.

If they are selling illegal HANS copies why hasn't ebay pulled the ad?

Do the *** clowns have any idea the legal ramifications of selling a "fake" HANS device upon failure in an impact. Worse yet.....a death. What a bunch of irresponsible JACKASSES!!!!!!! HANS Performance Products has got to have lawyers on this I assume.

However, this is sadly Darwinian at it's finest once again.......anybody looking to cut a corner ($$$) for an integral piece of safety equipment without fact checking lends supports for the very argument made.

Not sure why this was closed, or by whom, so re-opening it due to the potential risk to the racing community that this product poses.

Thanks Randy! You are 100% correct that this is a risk that the racing community needs to be aware of.

Folex's are one thing but personal protective devises are off limits. For me the chip on the tip of the collar and non engraved helmet anchors were indicators to me that what was being offered was not legit.

Hopefully a driver is not relying on the POS.

I'm not sure what you mean by engraving on the anchors. Mine doesn't have any engraving on the anchors, but there are HANS and SFI logos & spec numbers on the tethers. The metal anchors themselves look pretty close to what's in the pictures on the eBay listing.

Mine not only does not have engraved anchors, but until this week neither my HANS nor the tethers had SFI labels. Mine is in the process of being returned from H-D with those items. Just because those things are missing is no reason to assume it's not real. Most will have an FIA sticker at least. Which also makes me ask WTF do I have to have an SFI cert if my HANS is FIA homologated? FIA safety equipment is accepted everywhere I know of in lieu of the SFI Mafia's certs.

Can I mention again how much I HATE SFI?

It looks like it is painted fiberglass or cheap CF.
