Default Racetech seat - experiences and opinions wanted

I am looking at the 4009HR seen here http://www.saferacer.com/ra40rase.html

I sat in one with helmet and HANS, felt super comfortable. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this seat? Good, bad, or indifferent? TIA.

I really like mine. I've gone from an OMP to Cobra, and now this. The Racetech is by far the most comfortable to me. Also durable. I use an R3 instead of hans so I can't give you any comparisons there.

They have 4 mounting holes. Two front and two rear so there is a lot of adjustablity.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. It's now sitting in my car, just trying to figure out how to properly mount it.

I'll likely be buying that same seat before the end of the year. I was also impressed with the comfort and have spoken with numerous people who really like them. So far, I've not heard anything negative about the seat.

i like the built in seatback brace mounting holes and also you can use a side net with that seat. I am looking at the same one. I am between that and the Cobra Evo Technology seat. Currently i have a Recaro Pro Racer

Hello Andy,

The 4009HR seat I have does not have the seatback brace mounts. Maybe the other versions of the seat do? I know they have several different models.

Yes.

Unless that's his wife, them um...errr....I meant the seat of course...or else that would be considered "improperly" mounted.

best seat there is out there. had the highest crash test scores and handles more G's then all the other makes (unless they've released newer models that beat the 4009HR). i run this in my 996 grand am cup.

Pulling this up from the dead. For the long-of-torso, does the RaceTech pose any issues? I had a Cobra Suzuka, previously, that had the elongated holes, and it was great.

Rough estimate on my seat bottom to shoulder is 28". If anyone can take a quick measurement, I'd appreciate it.

You can't go wrong with seats like the Racetech RT4009HR and Cobra Sebring Pro. I looked at both seats and went with the Cobra solely because I fit in it better. With these seats, fit becomes the most important factor as far as I am concerned.

Good luck!

Scott,
Totally agree with you, I just wanted to have an idea if I should even bother to take the trek to try out the Racetech, or just go for the Cobra by default.

Looks like the RT4009HR is 25.5 from teh base to the harness guides.

The WTHR version (wide and tall) is about 28 from the base to the guide holes.

Scroll to the bottom to see the numbers.

Yeah, I saw that. I was hoping that the guide holes might be 3" high. ;-)
