sbarton: I am the one who posted the video.
I believe the compilation aspect of the video makes it appear he is reckless.

well howdy dew. i didn't get the theme of the vid when it was in the 996 forum. but i think i understand the point. you were trying new things, pushing the envelope so to speak. yes i have done that myself. however, i tend to keep those lessons learned close to the chest and not broadcast across the intraweb.
turn 3 ain't the most sensible place to practice car control IMO. it is a sliding sweeper for a rear wheel drive car and a relatively fast turn with little or no run-off. i myself have been working on being faster thru that turn. recently had a right rear go flat there and got introduced to the tire wall. it is much closer than one would think.
i still think the highlight reel was a bad idea Mr. sbarton.

The reason I was driving like that was because I wanted to practice car control and what to do in case the rear end steps out.
VIR is the only venue in the North East that I feel would be safe to do this.
I am glad I was able to hone my car control skills safely at speed on track

I missed the video, as it has been removed, but I would have liked to have seen it.
I instruct on a track with zero runoof, but we still try to explore the limits in a safe way in certain locations.
