Their last press release on their website about construction was dated Dec 22 2006 and had said they were supposed to start construction in Q1 2007. Does anyone know if they've actually started laying pavement? Even once construction begins, it seems to take a long time to build a racetrack...
The latest thing I've been told is they decided to go to another pre-built housing development close by and try to build the track there. It just doesn't sound too promising.

Both are inexpensive and one is brand new. I'm a member of both. There are several others in the works but I don't see them coming through.

This one. http://www.bergrennenring.com/ I don't think they've aquired land yet, or at least hadn't last time I heard. Maybe someone from the Hill Country region knows more up to date info...

Okay, now I'm interested in this thread. You see, Carolina Motorsports Park is getting ready to announce a "track country club". Up to 52 days track use, depending on price. (No other details provided at this time.)

Since I have no idea if this is good or bad for me, I need your input. What exactly is your firsthand experience with track clubs? Do they limit the ability for clubs (NASA, PCA, SCCA) to rent the track? Or do they run during week days? Does "The Club" run open track, or session events (ala DEs)?

And yes, I have this odd feeling I’m going to get priced out of my favorite hobby….

VD, I mean VR know more about it. I kind of know one of the guys involved. It's way too early of a concept for me to get my hopes up(even though it's been around for over a year now).

Is anyone a member at a place like this? How does it work?

What track in Georgia are you speaking of? There were some rumors of one like so many others but I haven't heard anything coming to fruition.

how many of these will last?

I understand the 'privatisation' of Lime Rock is a complete flop, you could hardly say there is a shortage of money in that area.

The development moved closer to Dallas with a smaller residential lot. I didn't hear that it'll be prebuilt but like the startup land is for purchase for custom builds.

I've seen the new layout, 2 tracks that can be run either way, connected to run either way- same as before. There is space available for bungalows by the track which wasn't available before.

I've found it interesting to note the wide range of pricing at these clubs across the country. My membership at MSR seems very reasonable compared to other parts of the country. Eagle's Canyon also seems to have very reasonable pricing.
George, you joined EC also? Where will you keep the car? Is it closer to your house? MSR is only 30 mins now from our new home, EC is 3 times that for us.

I seriously doubt most will be built. I have direct knowledge of most of these "projects". 'Nuff said.

Does anyone know of any plans for another track in Fla? I don't know of any private tracks like that in Fla. sounds like a possible promising business venture!!!
