Regarding F or E class:
There are far more cars in F than E. It makes getting a podium in F rather difficult, but in E you can come in last place and still tell your friends you got a top three spot.
At Sebring we had 28 in E and only 18 in F. E was smaller in Atlanta, I only beat 20 cars for the E win

What does Hupfer drive? Karl P's 944 water pumper (according to Karl) really kicks a$$ on the 911s in F.

How do you fit 245/275?? I take it you use 951(944) 16x8 fuchs in the front and 16x9 fuchs in the rear?

I can barely fit 16x7 fuchs with 225 in the front with rolled fender.

18x8 CCW's in front, 18x9 CCW's in the rear, rolled fenders, some light hammer work inside if called for.. my 930 has the same wheels, just a *bit* wider (11.5 and 9)

All the 911's except Mark Hupfer. Mark drives a '79 Euro SC.

ET23 16x7's really are the "wrong" size for the front of the 911, but we all use them because that's what's available. The 16x8 951 fuchs are even worse, but that's what I use with the same 225/50's.

The thing with the 18x8's is they are custom offset so they're built to sit further in the wheelwhell than the 16x7's.

I am running F at Road America this weekend but E class looks really challenging as well. It is also interesting how in some parts of the country people think the fast F cars are water cooled front engine and in my part of the country euro sc's and prepared cars from G rule.
Do the bigger brakes, tires, and r&p changes really make a 180hp SC competitive in F?

What weight does a prepared SC run in F? Is it still the G weight - 2700?

Weight for prepared cars remains the same as their stock class weight. Why run a non-Euro SC in F when there is always cars to race in G? They are not lighter than Euros and do not have as much power as anything else in F.

Not planning on it, just curious about Cory's comment regarding prepared G cars being out front in some regions. My guess is that you could tune a US SC to get close to Euro HP and still be legal and with the addition of larger tires, better brakes and better gearing that you could have a pretty competitive car even against a Euro SC. From what I've seen with the top prepped G cars in the NE, their power levels are close to whatever an S2 or Carrera has to offer.

Yeah, but you can tune a Euro SC to get the same bump and be well ahead of all of them power wise. I don't think that bigger brakes or an inch wider wheels will make up for 20+ more horsepower with cars that light.
