Default NASCAR at Sears Poi... oops infineon

Fun race to watch.

Bummer it came down to a fuel/pit strategy that stretched out all the leaders so we didn't see people really pushing eachother hard right to the checker.

Still nice to see JPM prove that he can drive that big heavy car around the as fast as anyone in the series. Hopefully this will give him some confidence to build on for the roundy rounds.

I was hoping Robbie Gordon could get the win, but I don't think their pit strategy worked out too well... Unfortunately...

I think JPM and the crew snookered everybody....

Good race though - especially Stewart's pass on Gordon in the final few laps... That was great...

He had a couple of really nice passes throughout the day too. That guy needs to spend more time in some road course series, he's fun to watch.

I gotta give some credit to Denny Hamlin for not only fixing his shifter with vise-grips during the pitstop, but finding the vise grips after he dropped them on the floor while trying to fix it the first time.

Completely agree! I saw the last 30 laps from my Hotel room here in Cleveland. Actually, pretty entertaining!!

I was on my feet watching the end of the race. It is great to see JPM live up to the hype. Didn't they say that the furthest back anyone had come from to win was 15th (something in the teens) and Montoya comes from 32nd! Seeing him work his way up and battle the current stars was great. Up until that second pit stop (around lap 70) the racing was great. Now the cars aren't that exciting but the racing sure is.

Very happy for JPM - way to go from the 32nd starting spot! You could hear on his on-board camera that he was saving fuel by short shifting and by coasting into certain corners (i.e. T1). I remembered he used to do this type of thing in F1, too.

Did anybody hear Kyle Petty's comment after he was slammed into at turn 11 on the first lap?

"What the Fuc* was that?" LOL

My wife thought that was me while she was in the laundry room! I had to rewind the Tivo and show her that Petty actually was pissed at Kenseth for dive bombing him.

That was a great race and I won the bets on who would win.

Or at least not during the heat of the moment. Everything after that was either replayed later or during cautions, so that didn't get any impulse responses

I was thrilled that JPM finally won a NNC race, although I would have loved to see him spank #20 and the like in a more duel-like finish.

That was what... 5 minutes after Kyle was saying a prayer for a safe race for his team? Oops. I like Kyle. He's into all kinds of racing and seems to know more than the usual racer.

Some non-NASCAR race fan pals were over watching the race. They got into it... if there were more road races, there'd be more racer-fans than product-placement fans.

Is there any doubt that America would love a modern "Trans Am" series racing road courses with Mustangs, Camaros & Challengers? Nascar has the marketing strength to support their series but a good road course race beats virtually all Nascar tracks.
