What other US Tracks could the USGP run at???
In an article on Speedtv.com - Bernie says:
“I get along with (Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner) Tony George and I hope we can strike a deal, but we have offers from other places in the U.S. too.”
Where could he be referring to?
Laguna - probably not
Barber - doubt it
Watkins Glen - probably not
Road America - probably not???
where????

Sebring!
I think Miami Grand Prix (the principle the race was in 80s) would be the perfect "American Monte Carlo".
I know, I'm dreaming but in all seriousness it needs to be in a cool, big metropolitan place.

Something tells me Sebring would be a little bumpy for F1...
That's what I was thinking Finn... Gotta in/near a large metro area, nice facilities, FIA approved design, etc. that seems to limit the possibilities, that's why I wondered who he might be referring to...

He's full of sh**. He spewed the exact same BS this time last year (during contract negotiations). Fact is there's no other track willing to spend the $$millions required to be F1 compliant, and that could draw as good of a crowd. Indy is the highest attended F1 race from what I've heard. Bernie needs Indy, period.
That said, I'd love to see it go somewhere else (F**K TONY GEORGE!), but it ain't gonna happen.

I think a much better alternative for F1 would be another street course - which can mean anywhere, even the Mall in DC (think about it).
Venice Beach springs to mind, as does somewhere in the Bay area, a horrid Vegas car park, something to help regenerate New Orleans, Hoboken, Atlantic City, Chicago. Nowhere too high, too humid or too hot, although somewhere in Florida would be convenient.
The Glen is too long for modern F1 and too far from anywhere, and too dangerous (lets keep it the way it is). Laguna Seca would be nice, but would they want it?
Frankly, F1 is within an inch of giving up on the US for a year or two, a Hamilton win at Indianapolis could change all that - who is going to be the first to get his Nike race shoes....
