Default VP Racing Fuels

Anyone run their fuel?

I'm considering getting some of their 110 to have at the house, will be buying other 110 at the track...

Any issues/concerns with their fuel in the past?
I know alot of drag racers swear by it, but we aren't drag racing now are we...

Any issues with your homeowner's insurance if you store fuel at home?

What they don't know won't hurt 'em

I'm only talking 10-15 gallons at most.
Just enough to load the tank up for trips to the dyno, or to get me past the 1st session or 2 at the track, etc....

I've used VP in the past in Formula Mazda. We run Sunoco 110 now and buy it was the 55 gallon drum...Hank Thomas Performance isn't too far up the road from you in Concord.

Brian,

You need to ensure that you are tuning the engine on the fuel that you run. If the fuel has oxygen in it, and you tuned on fuel that does not have oxygen, then your AFR will be different. Also, VP fuels leave a white residue on the inside of the engine compared to Sunoco leaded fuel. If it were me, and it is only my opinion, I would stick with Sunoco Standard 110 leaded, or Sunoco 100 unleaded. Given a choice, I prefer unleaded over leaded fuel and your car, at 1 bar of boost should not need leaded fuel.

Brian ,

At your current boost and power level power level 100 unleaded or vp 103 unleaded is the way to go .
VP fuels are superior to the Sunoco , more stable with a higher speciific gravity for equiv octane ratings. It does of course cost more. Agree that you should run with the fuel your car is tuned for , if you plan to switch to VP take it to the dyno and adjust accordingly . As per our past conversations i would used the c16 ,for a bigger safty margin , turn the boost up and kick ***....

I'm happy with current power level. Since I can't afford to race, and rarely get passed at DE's there's not much sense in going for more power, other than for the pure fun aspects.

The difference between Sunoco110 at the track vs VP110 was one concern I have.

But currently am running just straight 100 unleaded.

thanks guys...

Brian
