I talked to them at Long beach and they will be at Laguna in 2 weeks. IRRC
I wish I met them earlier the 3000 material is amazing. My Alpine Stars one is as light as the x-lite but fits less like a jumpsuit and more anatomically correct like Puma. Now that I've tried the stand 21 I have buyers remorse about the alpine stars

I have the Sparco X lite, and am happy with it in the Texas heat. Puma's light suit is also pretty nice, with a similar weight. I haven't seen the Stand in person.

Jerseybean, what did you end up doing? I thought to buy a Puma off the shelf, but now I think I should go to Mid-Atlantic Trading in New Egypt, NJ, and actually try some of the Sparco suits.

Any suit that is 3 layers, or FIA 8856-1986/2000 or SFI 3.2a/5 or higher can be worn without fireproof underwear. There are 2 layer suits that meet this requirement.
FWIW I've had my hands on both the Xlight and the Stand 21 suit. If I had to choose one, I really think the Stand 21 is a phenomenal suit and if I had the money I would have gotten one. I instead went with an Alpinstars GP2. It was 2 layer which made it a lot lighter than 3 layer of equivalent price but it's FIA 8856 2000 rated.

6 week for a custom, it might be quicker now as most teams are done for the year. When I submitted my order a couple of team were ahead me getting new suits.

I went with a X-Light and love it, even for DE event I'd rather wear it feels like im in my PJs and It's cooler than wearing Jeans - not to mention safer.

I wear the new ('07) Sparco X-Light. It's very good, no complaints, but I should have gone for a custom fit. I have recently seen the Sabelt light weight suit that a friend bought this year, it is also very nice and lighter (less bulky) than my Sparco. I also like the Momo and the top-of-the-line Puma suits.
As for Stand 21, I think they are maybe the best looking suits manufactured, period. But, I really don't wear my suit much outside of the car, especially during the summer months, when I can't wait to get out of the car and change out of the driver's suit!
Ciao!

I'm heading to the Sparco because the Trionfo is not available in black in my size for another month and there is a Sparco dealer only an hour from me.

And I'm still loving it! Helmet too.
Although I have to admit that I left the suit at home when I did Glen Gatlin's Advanced Driving Day with Patrick Long. Thank goodness! Patrick was wearing his Stand21 factory suit that day. I would have NEVER lived that down with the crowd in attendance that day!
