Thanks! Those are very similiar specs to a Prepared class E36 M3 in BMW Club Racing (one class of preparation below our car) Just trying to get a guage on laptimes with the new pavement and a feel for how the car specs might affect your driving style.

I watched my video last night, always makes me see how poorly I drove... so many places I could have improved, ways I could have passed other cars or prevented cars from passing me. It's so much easier to be fast when watching that when you are racing!!!! I made a few good moves though, and was quite consistent, so I led a bunch of laps and ended up with the win in E (they missed stock rule 1M in impound which allows my old permatune CD box).

Mike, I'm almost afraid to ask why they have you listed in the results as GT4S, but I will anyway ?

My car was fully compliance checked after our race (the only one in our race group, I think). I have an old permatune CD box in my car, the scrut said it was illegal. But it's actually legal (see rule 1M, don't know how we missed it at the track) so they are changing me back to E now on the PCA website and mylaps. I was initially going to be completely DQd but he did me a "favor" and put me in GT4S.

My video is on 8mm analog tape and I dont have any way of putting it online yet. Will break down and get a new digital camcorder (mine is 15 years old!) when the new car comes in.

Here's my qualifying laps after the black flag all. The last lap was the quickest (no traffic finally) and a blast to drive. I lost my clutch in T1, Lap 1 in the sprint and that sidelined me for the weekend.

This is my first time at Atlanta and the first time in this car. Scale issues have been mentioned and my car came in very light...during this session I had about 200 lbs in the rear fender wells and spare tire compartment hence a lot of push.

I found some time by reviewing the video but will be interested in your comments. Here's the link...have at it.

BTW, how do you post videos here?

wow, nice job!

You carried a lot of speed through T3, if I did that I would be in the wall.

On the last lap you were FLAT OUT into and through T12, that was HAIRY, again a 911 would have been in the wall, nice save!

Very nice driving! It was a very interesting track to learn for us first-timers, right Jeff? I think that you were a little braver in the downhill than I was.

Thanks Guys,

I really can't describe how much I enjoyed the track. There is a decent risk/reward trade off in T3 and T5 and yeah, T12 was a bit hairy for a moment or two. It felt worse in the car than it looks on video but I can't say that I have ever crossed a finish line sideways before I knew we were on our last lap and traffic cleared just in time so I knew it was now or never.

Mike, I'll remember your comments if I ever jump in a 911 down there.

Thanks Brian. I was on Hoosiers. Up until the Q session, I was on old Hoosier 04's that came with the car and they really held up well. I corded them during the warm up session on Saturday so I got all of Thursday and Friday out of them.

As a side note, I heat cycled them during the fun race so I started and stayed at the back. When the track went green I was still coming down the hill into 10A! Huge field and no one seemed to have radios, I didn't see one car jump the pack. Communications are critical at RA since you can't see any of the lead cars taking the green.
