Leh - Do you prefer not to left foot brake or does the transmission not respond well to downshifting without the clutch?

thats pretty funny you would ask.. cause halfway through my race on sat.. my clutch went out... it messed up my pace a little.. i had to be real carefull when downshifting... cause it would lock the rear tires if i was turning at all.....

u def want to use the clutch on downshifts... its better for the tranny... and smoother....

Got ya. I'm more accustomed to straight-cut gearboxes in Formula cars where a clutchless downshift doesn't really upset the car at all as long as you match revs well. In those cars, we actually saw less wear on the tranny when downshifting without the clutch...using the clutch often resulted in grinding gears.

yea.. even though everyting in the rsr is light... thats a whole nother deal.. you got 2400 pounds bangin against the tranny... prob twice as much as a lil formula car...

Nice video as usual. How wide is your torque band? What with 6 speeds and running out of gear on the back strait you must be running pretty close ratios?

yea the gearbox is the wrong one.. we hafta change 5th and 6th...


peak tq was 304... im from 280tq to 300tq from 5500 to 8500rpm.... i dont get over 400whp till a lil after 7500...
