Default Millville, NJ Track Update

New Jersey govenor Corzine signed the bill creating the special 2% sales tax in the Millville area to help fund the track. The FAA is still dragging their feet in the final stages of turning over the land but progress is being made.

The article, in the "Press of Atlantic City" on Sat. still states ground breaking will commence this spring with driving next spring.

Full steam ahead?!

That's awesome!

Anybody hear about Raceway Park? I just saw that on their website they got final approval for a Road Course in Old Bridge! Are there any other Road courses around?

The track at Englishtown has been under constuction for years and will be a long time yet before it is ready to open. The Millvile track is exciting and I'm sure will be open long before Englishtown. It will be nice to have finally have a track here in NJ! I saw the Englishtown track and the burms they built are awfully close to the track in areas and look like car killers.

That's what I was thinking. It's only slightly bigger than some of the new long kart tracks out there. It doesn't look too bad for just lapping though.

Englishtown "road course" will never have full size car events on it, its been deemed too dangerous for any events where more than one car is out at a time. Its a shame too, they kind of built it without planning, could have been a hit if they went through with it "legally."

Its also a shame NJ Motorsports park is taking a path so many ventures have taken before. Hopefully they get thier *** in gear soon and come within 2 years to thier original launch date But with the partners involved, I have faith!

"Their ***" has been well in gear for quite a while, moving the morass of legal/regulatory issues along fairly well as these things go. I don't see them being anything like other efforts that have been lacking. In fact, they are just like one other effort....the very successful VIR facility, which they did also of course.

The "road course" at Englishtown is possibly, and I stress possibly, only suited to Karts..... the silly thing is that they don't even run karts on there, they use the parking lot.....go figure.

Hmm - sounds like it's perfect for autocross...
