explain this...
3 great days of track driving. Very hot weather. I load the car on the trailer and notice the left rear tire is as flat as can be. I towed home and put 30 lbs of air in it to unload and parked in my garage. 24 hours later it still has 30#.
Driving my last session the car handled great. No suspicion of low tire pressure at that point. Probably 3 hours from my last session till I loaded on the trailer.
How can this be?

That 996TT driver you were embarassing so comprehensively on track decided that the only way to slow you down was to make a few adjustments off track....... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I wonder if you experienced some slight debeading?
While it's not quite the same, I've actually peeled a kart tire clean off the bead before and have a friend who had a epidemic of it one season.

If he didn't do it already, tell him to get some beadlocks. Also, tell him to get some new wheels. It's usually around $150 for a set, or roughly double for a magnesium set.

Thanks. This was about 13 years ago though.
He's since moved on to dirt modifieds and apparently crewing for a NASCAR team where he got run into in the pits at Watkins Glen on in-car! And I've since moved on to cars as well.

Bill: Were these the Michelin WonderTires or the old Pirellis? My Hoosiers lose air constantly from tiny punctures. It got to the point that Paul @ Radial Tire tried putting silicone tire-sealant foam in-- no more problems (though "Hoosier Ooze" is famous in the industry).
Hey-- You going to Schattenbaum's DE at Summit? I just signed up.
You are also welcome to my motel room at VIR if you want it--I had to pull out of the club race because of a major work project.

Lee,
Thanks for the room offer but I am set up. You are taking your work way too seriously. Life is short. Get 100 club races in before they pull your ticket.
Yes these are the CUP tires which are bullet proof unless I picked up a screw or whatever.
Seems pretty odd that it would go way flat but not leak while sitting on the car in the garage. I will mount my fat cups on the Fikse's and see how it goes.
I signed up for all of Schattenbaums 2002 DE's. I go from Summit Friday to VIR Saturday & Sunday (race school) then back to VIR the next weekend (club race). What a country.
