Fundamentals of data acq
I'm looking for the best book(s) I can put my hands on on the topic.
I know that I should attend the Claude Rouelle seminar but I can't afford to take 3 days off in one go for it (racing season + 3 kids is hard enough already).
I have MSc(s) in Electrical engineering so even though it was a long time ago I should still be able to understand and apply most technical things... My race car is a GT3 RS with a sequential box so I'm not that interested in ground effect stuff. All pointers greatly appreciated.
Cheers
JM (if it matters, I live in the UK for now)

"Competition Car Data Logging" is OK by McBeath. I think there is a new version so make sure you get the current one.
There is a much better one that is out of print. I don't have it and don't recall the title but it sells for hundreds of dollars when available.
Other than those, I am not aware of any good data books.
What you might consider is hiring a professional data engineer to coach you for a couple of hours. I did that and got a lot out of it.

Go to Claude Rouelle's website http://www.optimumg.com/ and read away for free. There is a whole lot of good information here. I took his class last year and most of the class was about race car dynamics, which was great for me, but not great for people are expecting lots of classroom on data acquisition. If you want to download the Motec and AIM software (free also) I could send you a couple sessions that you could look at in each system. I find that repetition with these software packages really helps understand the power of data acquisition.
