Ok so the cayman is 132 lbs lighter than 944 Turbo S, plus has the advantage of suspension design 20 year newers and mid engine. Turbo does have torque edge, but also suffers turbo lag. Hmm.... Which car do you think will be faster?

surprisingly, the cayman has an old suspension design, mac struts on all 4 corners. porsche has made it work though

stock for stock, i would say the cayman is faster due to the mid engined layout and linear power curve (more area under the curve than the peaky turbo S)

The "D" Class 944 Turbo or Turbo Cup cars have different set of chips (3 as I am told) They can run at less weight and without T Bars, so with the opportunity to pick the HP they want to run so being legal for them is different than for us lesser Turbo S guys. I just don't see how a non Turbo Cup car would have a chance against anything with your power.

Given the engine restriction rules a legal Turbo S might pick up what maybe 25HP? Again trying to stay legal here.

I don't think it's possible but maybe it's because I just don't know how. I don't see how you can get these kinds of gains given that you can't change anything from the air filter to the exhaust manifold and the chips can't be replaced.

If there is a way to do it legally...I'd love to know. I'm content to be a mid-pack runner running a legal car...I know the big nut behind the wheel has tons of tuning improvement yet to be done.

On a Cayman, what's stopping you from running GT3 RSR suspension? That sounds like it would handle pretty good

I know the E class 964 cars were running 964 RSR suspension bits and pieces, the rear arms looked like 935 pieces. I dont think these mods are in the spirit of the stock rules but they may be legal.

that would be amazing but i don't think would work. fronts yes but rears no. the rear on the cayman are struts so you would have to adapt the RSR subframe/suspension to receive the multilink suspension. yikes
