2007 - Daytona 24 Hour - Interested Drivers Here!
Several Rennlisters and PCA Club Racers have mentioned an interest in running the next 24. I am very interested, but do not have a car which would be competitive (or even be eligible to enter)
Who is serious about committing the time and $$ to get this effort going? I have some preliminary budget numbers. The pro teams are looking for $50K per seat x 4 paying seats.
If we go into this with no unrealistic aspirations of winning, it can be done for less than this, probably $33K or so each.
Interested people list here and once we have 4 or more people we will schedule a conf call.

We are trying to put together 2 cars for the race. A 2006 997 cup and a 2005 996 cup. Both are in the price range you stated. Give Gordon a call or send an e-mail. Maybe we can help you put something together.

I passed both of these along to a buddy of mine who does some pro racing and has been looking for Daytona rides.

Hey, I resemble that statement!
You know after all the $$$ spent on club racing this year I have nothing left for a personal trainer or healthy meal planning.
I have already started working out in preparation. Currently I am a big fat pork chop compared to some others so I hope to go from 6 feet, 210 lbs to 6 feet, 185 lbs and more muscle by Jan. Otherwise all of the lateral load will end up throwing me into the wall at Daytona!

Chris;
I can assure you it is fun and worth the experience. The only issue at first is getting used to the DP cars passing you at will. Actually, passing you at turn 1,2,3,...etc. As for weight, endurance is more critical than actual weight.
