BTW, did I ever mention that I recently did an 18-hole "lap" record of 2:58? Now if I could just find the video...

Larry, what did he do in the GT3 forum? I am too lazy to seach the whole thing.

I must admit, this has been an amusing thread. Heh. It is interesting how many of us chose NOT to post Road Atlanta "times", eh?

Was it just me, or did this thread begin to take on a 'Colorchange' feel to it somewhere along the way?

I don't know if Cleve can still read this or not, as I'm new to this forum and don't know what banned means, but how about RSR and Cleve race something without so much HP. Say.... a ROTAX 125cc -- non-shifter kart. Guaranteed the better driver will come out of that when you can't downshift and use the power. Smooth, momentum, carrying speed through the corners, knowing where the limit is but not going over without the Hp to save your bacon if you screw it up.
BTW, I love this forum. I've learned a lot and continue to do so.
I don't know Cleve personally, but I know his type. Fast car, marginal driver who is just starting to click regarding his skills coupled with the fact he can hide behind the vail of a forum. I seriously doubt he'd be speaking in such a manner if we were at a track, but I may be wrong, who know?
If you are still reading Cleve, I thought you were too late on the gas coming out of the corners and the line on the back straight didn't seem right, not bad, but not the one I've used. I saw your thread on the GT3 forum before you were banned and I thought the lower powered GT3 cars were pulling you in the turns, it wasn't until AFTER the turn where you were able to use the HP to pass. I will give you one thing, you did tighten up on a GT3 underbraking after the back stretch. Would love to see more consecutive laps to see the consistancy and where you might be able to improve.
Just go out and have fun. You're a young guy, new family, hell of a car, time to go to a track...enjoy life. What do you care what we think anyway?

So let me get this straight. This guy Cleve takes a $180,000 GT2, the highest performing street 911 made, and adds adjustable shocks, springs, and 150 more HP. He then puts Pirelli slicks on it, and takes it out to an acknowledged horsepower track and trundles around at a pace that most cars can't match, but one that is well below the car's potential, and then crows about how his "street car" can beat race cars. Why did I even try and be nice to this guy?

Cleve:
It's obvious that you are looking to stir fellow Porsche fanatics up since your post on 6 speed has the same response. I absolutely accept the challenge of a sub 1:30 in your car at RA versus a sub 1:40 in my 993 RS. We'll do a Porsche Pinks episode. I am sure Larry would consider the same challenge with you in his RSA.
For fellow respondents, to clarify, most of the cars Cleve passes in the video were on their warm up lap.
Cleve:
Great choice for Nic with instruction. As I posted on 6speed, he worked with us at a Panoz race and is great. I think he's the most underrated sports car racer in the U.S.

Oh! That Gt700! ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Cleve, nice video. I'm a track noob myself and have never driven RA. But here goes...
I imagine the big challenge for the driver (you) is making use of that power as early as possible. You're very late getting on the power coming out of the corners - in most cases waiting until track out with the wheels straight. That's safe and conservative, but isn't going to be fast. Get the car rotated sooner so you can apply that power. Also, sounds like that car doesn't like curbs ... I'd stay off'em.

I am going to try to arrange an afternoon at Road Atlanta with him soon. It will be on a friendly basis at my suggestion.
I will post the results if this happens. I think his car, properly set up with slicks, should be a 1:27xx car with me.
