Default Connecting rods

This is an academic question, but if you were re-building a mid-'80s 911 motor, would you install Carillo or Pauter rods? I'm told the Pauter rods cost less, but other than that, what are the merits of one vs. the other?

Per PCA club racing rules you need to use the stock rods then. There is a weight advantage by using Carrillo or Pauter rods over stock rods. In any case, an F car does not warrant stronger rods based on the engine output and RPM. Consider stock 3.2 Carrera rods are used in the 930, C2 turbo, 964, 964 Cup engines. I have even used them in turbo engines turning 7000rpm and 550hp.
