Default Does this mean Eric Clapton is a redneck too?

He was at the race at Bristol on Wed night - the TRUCK race!
Not even the big race - the TRUCK RACE!

I was shocked when I saw the clip on Speed Report tonight....

No- it just means he knows how to have a good time.

Now if he shaved a #3 into his backhair, then I'll have to say redneck.

I hear ya. It just kinda blew me away when I saw the clip on SPEED that showed EC getting his pic taken with several of the drivers before the race.

It were at Indy or California, Infineon, I wouldn't be as suprised. But at Bristol, it just kinda blew my mind...

He's a buddy of one of the team owners. I can't remember who right now but I remember thinking it was someone from central Ohio near where he has one of his residences.

Well, he does have a house in Columbus, but I don't know who the Truck team might be.

Here's what I found. I knew it was someone from Columbus. Germain is the largest Toyota dealer in Central Ohio and maybe Ohio(?)

Eric Clapton makes NASCAR debut: Todd Bodine was the big winner on Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway when famed guitarist Eric Clapton was a guest of Bodine's truck owners - Bob, Steve and Rick Germain. It was Clapton's first race experience.(germainracing.com)(8-23-2006)

Redneck, who's more redneck than the Allman Brothers? Remember Derek and the Dominoes?

[rant] I grew up by the Bristol International Speedway and have always defended NASCAR. I've said not all NASCAR fans are rednecks. I'm not a redneck (last I checked) and I enjoy the racing. When I think I've held up my end and provided a semi-good defense... that picture blows it all out of the water. [/rant]

Then again- it could be worse. Could have been shaved her backhair.

He was just a guest of a team, he is looking very fit for his age.

" Guitar great Eric Clapton was in attendence as a guest of the Germain Racing Team.Of his first NASCAR expierience, Clapton said, "this tis great, I'm diggin' it."

Yes, he watched trucks make left-only turns, but he is a lot more of an enthusiast than that represents. He is a Ferrari Enzo owner well-known loyal Ferrari customer for mutliple decades.

Heck, any of us would go too if we were the guests of some rich owner. I for one, would have a blast so if any of you are big time team owners and want me to make a guest appearance, PM me!

I had pit passes to Bristol a couple years ago - saw Johnny Cochran (OJ's Attorney) riding around the pits on golf cart.

Figure that one out.
