Default Funny quote from this month's Excellence

"...the next ALMS race at the New England Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut on July 1 should be a fascinating one. It's a small, fast, and relatively smooth track that may favor the RS Spyder."

Relatively smooth? Which Lime Rock Park are they referring to?

Perhaps they got it from a track description that was written in the 80's. I do remember it being fairly smooth then.

When I was at Road Atlanta this week doing the Maserati thing, I asked some of the pro instructors about LRP and Sebring (the next track on my 'things to do list').

They laughed and said Sebring was a flat track with 50,000 elevation changes, each one about 1".
They also said it's likely that LRP will have to repave before the ALMS teams return, as many have complained again this year.

Don't underestimate "relatively." Just think, if you were running the Baja 1000, Lime Rock is nice and smooth......

I'm going to get some of those bicycle toe-clips for my brake pedal so I can keep my foot on the pedal in a couple of the braking zones...like at the end of No Name.
