Default Hawk HT 10 squeal

Having REALLY bad squeal from my HT 10 pads, big red brakes, rotors about half worn. It takes a third to half a session on the track to get them to quiet down even a little, and only then if I am really working hard. I'm not talking about regular noise, this is screeching that can be heard all around the track.
Any thoughts? It is way past annoying.

It is the caracteristics of this pad. Even if you run them on the street they will squeel like that, it is why so many people have dropped this pad. It stops great, but the headache at the end of the day is not worth it.

Wear your squeal on the street as a Badge-of-Honor for being a track rat, that's what I do.

'Course, the wife is too embarrassed to ride in the car, which does present a problem

Mine squel, but I thought that was just because I'm on street tires. I heard they don't squeal with r-comps because you're actually using them then, lol.

Got them to quiet down after about two hard laps. I guess that isn't too bad, but they start to squeal again after the cool down lap in the pits. I didn't hear anyone else's pads sound anywhere near as bad. Are Pagids quieter? I know lots of guys use the black, and I don't hear them.

David,

They do squeal. Mine usually stop squealing after one or two hot laps. It usually doesn't come back until the brakes are cold. They do put out a lot of dust.

My Pagid Orange used to squeal pretty good, but then I put on Pagid black. Jeeezus, they were loud. You could hear me around the entire track for the whole session. They finally drove me nuts on the street and I replaced them with PFC 97's yesterday. They still squeal a bit, but hopfully that will go away when the Pagid transfer is worn off the rotor.

My wife used to hate being in the car when I used the Pagid Orange. We'd pull up to a nice hotel/restaurant, and sqeeeeeeeelllll. We now take the Volvo
