Premature question b/c details are yet to be release, but I assume there will be certain requirements as far as safety equip. and specific spec tires allowed not to mention driver experience for the DE. I ask b/c one has to consider side loading and suspension capabilities of the varied cars that might attend. Having run the 24 hour course more than a few times its not a place to be taken lightly for a DE.
I'm not telling anything new to you regular PCA racing guys that have been there and done that but I would have some concerns running my twin on the high banks at a buck 40+mph through nascar 3-4 w/o the proper tire/susp. settings.

Manny is correct when he says there is much planning to do and we haven't really gotten alot of detail together yet but here is what I can tell you so far. There are no plans currently to have a DE group. We will run the 24 hours course and our plans are for sprint and enduro races both. This will be a great event co-hosted by Florida Crown and Florida Citrus Regions of PCA. The stewards have been asssigned and the race staff is being assembled.
There are no plans to scrap the Roebling Race and it will go on in December as usual. We do expect to sell this race out so when registration opens later on (we'll give plenty of notice) don't delay as the number of cars will be limited (unlike the Rennsport). Stay tuned here and we'll make updates available as the come up. We look forward to seeing all of you in Daytona!

Dave,
Is DE out for sure or is there still a possibility?
Just want to cast my vote to include DE in the schedule.
If done so that it's instructors (& maybe also well experienced solos) only IMO it would be safe enough and prefectly doable.
Thanks.

Thanks for taking on the race, Dave. Judging from past Roebling Road races I've done with you as chair, I'm sure it'll be a great weekend. I still have my frequent flyer card from the Hooters right across from the track. Sure beats at track food

Race Car
Right on Mitch!
What would the safety requirments be to hold a DE at Daytona?
Would cars need to pass a race tech
How many of us could pass a race tech?
(and commit to being paid entrants at a daytona DE?)
That may be a determining factor.
I'd think the safety requirements would need to be higher than at sebring...
I also believe many of us would upgrade our cars if we could run Daytona.
what is the number of entrants to break even, and run a DE?

I just found out that my Techquipment roll bar won't pass tech!! What a crock of ****! It's made by Porsche and not allowed by PCA? That's a rip. Anyway, I am still going to try to get in and if I have to buy a new bar, so be it. I can always sell the Techquipment POS.
Since I have a current PBOC and NASA race license, I should be able to get a provisional PCA license. Count me in!!

We are still early in the planning stages as I said and no DE group is planned at this time. If that changes, it would be for a select group of solo experienced drivers. I appreciate thte kind words Manny...our goal is for everyone to have a great time, stay safe and want to return next year. I hope I have time to join you at Hooters!
Mac, I may be in Jake's 914 again or I might have "old yeller" back on track by then...you never know.
