Like to have club racing coverage in Pano?
Pano readers/PCA members are not interested in club racing coverage I am told the surveys say.
If you add DE drivers to racers, we should be a fairly big group. Do you like reading about club racing in Pano? If so, we should make this clear to our representatives. For non-racers, would it bother you to see race coverage on a few pages now and then? If you get a survey, help us out!
And this is not to take anything from Club Racing News. There's plenty of room, need and interest, I think, for both. Plus future racers and volunteers would not have subsriptions to CRN.
PS, CRN welcomes your personal racing articles. I also need help with West Coast coverage for various outlets.
Thanks,
PM

I would love to see more club racing coverage in Pano and my local region. Anything to educate PCA members on what racing is about and what it is not would be valuable.

I'd like to see coverage of the personalities in club racing. From the rookie doing a first race, to a veteran doing his/her 50th race, to the person who goes from a 944 to a Cup Car, to the racer that buys a new Cayman and races it. There's so many interesting stories in each club race, I guess the challenge is finding these stories and putting them in print. Simply reading about who finished first and who won the race doesn't do much for me. I can look that up in the results a few days after the race.
One of my favorite racing articles I've ever read was when European Car (I think) covered the first F1 race at Indy. Of course, every body and his brother covered the race and most of the articles were pretty much the same, but European Car covered it from the view point of two reporters who got to tag along with McLaren that weekend. Really an eye opening article about the F1 circus that made a race weekend that I attended even more exciting than I remember it.

If they put club racing news in it then I wouldn't drop it in the trash 5 minutes later.

Personally, I have always thought that Club Racing articles are a MUCH NEEDED addition to Panorama! Like many other racers, I have travelled all over the US just to attend some of these great races and I am sure that many of us here would much rather hear about Club Racing news than the Show and Go news that always seems to be packed in Pano. This club needs to expand more than just the usual cruises, historical aritcles, concours, swap meets, etc. Time to put Club Racing into Pano alot more often!
Not only should the overall results be printed but interesting articles by fellow PCA members would be greatly appreciated. Manny's suggestion is right on!
