Default Wheelie bars? Lime Rock Photos

Ran across this guy's site while surfing the World Challenge forum. Thought I'd share.

WOW! That is awesome, thanks for sharring. I assume that is the uphill, i've gotten a slight blip in revs when the car gets light, but what was he doing here to get thta extreme? I assume the picture is real.

If you check waaaaaaaay back in Lime Rock-lore, you'll find that Sam Posey set the 'All-time Altitude Record for Wheelies at the Uphill", in a Trans-Am car sometime in the late 60's-early 70's.

There are also incredible pix of Jo Hoppen's trick Audi Trans-Am race cars doing major wheelies there...just never seen them on the iNtARwEb.

Apparently 962's did wheelies there too....Derek Bell talks about that in a Lime Rock video.

Ergo the chicane at the top of the uphill, as seen in yesterday's ALMS race. A 917 has been "over" before the chicane.

That was John Morton back in '88. Pretty bad fire afterwards too. I remember seeing pictures of that crash - hard to believe he lived through that, but he was at the track the next day.

Horst Farnbacher said they were having setup problems but that's ridiculous!

(Or maybe he's just too ^%$^ fast...)

He's 2 seconds faster than me at LRP on speedvision spec Toyos vs the Michelin slicks I run. I get serious wheelspin at the top of the hill but I THINK the front wheels are on the ground. Need to get a photographer there for my next race and see how it looks...

Racing at the Glen SCCA National this weekend if anyone wants to come hang/help out.

He was our guest speaker at a vintage event at LRP several years ago and gave a great account of that incident.

He personally changed the face of Lime Rock (and vice versa!)
