Question PCA/PBOC at Homestead

Just wondering who is going and if anyone is interested in getting together Friday night at a place in Key Largo for dinner? Let me know and I will through some suggestions out there.

Hey Rich,

I'd love to but I'm pretty sure I'm staying at home and driving in every day (3.5 month old baby...).

Where is everyone staying at? Also, any idea at what time they'll open the gates to drop the trailes off?

Look forward to seeing you there ! Look for my car sporting its new "colorful" graphics scheme!

Hey Juan!

Homestead doesn't open the gates to drop the trailers off before the morning of the event Instead, a few of the drivers drop their trailers off outside the gates the day before the event (Friday). I know that most of the drivers/racers choose to stay at the Hampton Inn in Florida City. They are one of the more expensive hotels down there but definitely on of the nicest.

Argh I guess I'll then drive in really early on Saturday morning. If I decide to get me a room for that night I'll let you know to see if I can meet up with you guys at the restaurant (I'm assuming thats a go...).

I printed out the track map to study it to try to determine a good line. I printed out the previous posts on this also. Any hints ?

HI Juan,
since we have similar cars, maybe I can show you my line....

I'm instructing, which normally means, 1st session out. stop by for a ride if you have time....
(later in day, may be giving student rides)

U need good brakes here! and its really hot with all the pavement.

-also, as I remember, gate doesnt open til 7am, and if you arrive then, its 30 min til you get in....

PS: I'm staying at my dads house in dade co.

but when I get a hotel, I like the days inn, north on us1, past the wall mart, and right next to the sports bar.

I was not impressed with the hampton inn.

my .02....

OK, I'll look you up. Any recommendations on where to setup camp with my trailer in the paddock?

The gates will be open Friday from 4:30 until about 6:30 to drop off your trailers. I will know for sure in a couple of days if I will be there. Got rear ended at the NASA race at Sebring. BMW waved me by and thn drove into the back of me. Said he was sorry.

Boyd may need quite a few beers! On the other hand, he has that Track Insurance so maybe we will be able to get off with only a 6-pack. Either way, I hope we will see you there.

Anyone interested in going to Sundowners in Key Largo on Friday night at around 7? Not only GREAT food but AMAZING sunsets. Bring the girls too! Here is their website: http://www.sundownerskeylargo.com

That's sounds really nice, but I don't know if I can get there by 7:00.
I left Tampa around noon last time and just sat in traffic around the Miami airport for what seemed like forever. I planned to leave a little later this time so I don't have to drive through the Miami rush hour.

Terry,

Take 75 and the turnpike south, you'll be far from the airport's traffic. Sundowners has good mojitos... And if you can't drive aftewards, you can always roll over to the Sheraton next door

Mr. Bill; I just got the provisional schedule and the instructors are out just before the race practice which will not allow me to hitch a ride with you and then get in my car ontime. I'll take some verbal clues from you if possible

Boyd; I checked with Joanne and she confirmed that the gates will NOT be open for us to drop off trailers on Friday. Gates will open 7:00 AM Saturday morning.
