racing shoe fit properly?

This has been a useful thread. I just went to lunch and bought a pair of Puma "future cats," the successor to the "speed cats." They had both at the local Puma store, but the offset lacing of the future variety fit my narrow feet better. They seem comfortable to walk in and the soles are pretty thin.
After I'm no longer a newbie I'll have to look into real driving shoes, suit and the like.

Is SFI fire resistance? If so, "no." In fact there is a notice that they are not fire resistance whatsoever. For me, that's not an issue since nothing else I wear (including my M2000-rated helmet) is fire resistant.

All I know is that the Alpinestars work better for me than the Sparcos.
