Default Where to stay at Barber Motorsports

Since lodging is the topic of the moment, I'd thought I'd ask about Barber Motorsports in Alabama. I'm thinking about doing a bike track event later in the summer down there and wonder where's a good place to stay. I'll probably be flying into Birmingham if that makes a difference. Don't know anything about the area, Barber is a long way from Pennsylvania!

I stayed at a Marriot near the big shopping center. When PCA did a race last year they had a $90 or $95/night rate.

Only problem with staying where Greg stays is he eats everything in the breakfast buffet...or was that me actuallly....lol Marriot was very nice and a ton of restaurants/shopping around it. Took about 20 mins to get to the track from there.

Cris,

Are you more interested in staying near the track or somewhere with night life? If night life, the Pickwick in 5-points will let you party all night and walk back to the room. Also lots of nice hotels at the intersection of 459 and 280. And last but not least, the Wynfrey and others around the Galleria.

I think they lost money on us that weekend!

The drive wasn't bad since it was all interstate and the track is only a mile or two off the exit.
