Default Summit Point DE

The Schattenbaum region of the PCA is having its first DE of the year at Summit Point on 3/25 and 3/26. This is a friday/Saturday event. We currently have about 40 cars signed up, so there is lots of room. We expect to have about 70 cars when all is said and done. We plan three run groups, so there will be tons of track time. We do not require PCA membership, or even a porsche. This is a good chance to get your non-porsche friends out on the track. If you're interested all the information including registration forms can be found on our web site at www.schattenbaum.org

Pete -- does Schattenbaum always allow non-members and non-porsches to run, or just for this one specific event?

We always allow everyone in on a space permitting basis. If we were over subscribed then members/porsches would have priority. This usually only happens at our Limerock event.

I'd like to try one of their events this year. Unfortunately the March 25/26 is the same weekend as VIR with the Mazda Club.

There are many benefits to a Schattenbaum DE over the typical DE. One important benefit being if a run session is cut short or missed for any reason Schattenbaum will juggle the schedule so every run group gets equal track time. This effort is the exception not the rule.

Shattenbaum runs great events, real 1/2 hour run sessions. Most PCA regions are going to 5 run groups. With 3 run groups you get plenty of run time, and a noticable absence of attitudes!

I second (or third) that. Really nice people, no militaristic streaks evident. I'm in New York on business that Fri., but may try to scoot by Sat., with or without the new car.

I'll fourth it. My only complaint with Schattenbaum is that I had to bring plenty of extra fuel for all of the run time that I got.

Shattenbaum should change their name to Shatenbomb to use a little street slang. One of the best days I had last year was with them, but will also be at VIR.

Darren, I will be at the Mazda VIR event, look for me #242.

Kam, good meeting you at the NASA event, hope to see you at Summit and SC with NASA later this year.

Forklift:

I'm not going to do a lot of events this year. My wife and I had a long talk last night.

May be next year.

It sounds like she should talk to Bull's wife:

I think I will have my next girlfriend speak to Bull's wife also.

Hopefully you can make a few....

Schattenbaum does put on excellent events....and one of the best is their June event at Watkins Glen. Last year we had the fuel problem noted above. Now, if they could just get Claudia to loosen up a bit.....

For the record, NNJR also makes every attempt to juggle the run times to give all groups equal time when we experience down-time.
