Larry, I look forward to it! And no, it wasn't boring in Tower...it is not every day we get a good grass fire!

Damn, I already know I will be missing November VIR again this year, too. Unfortunately I don't think I can go to the track a SECOND time during a wedding where my is in the wedding party... (oh, yes, I've done that... once...)

I have watched this hijacked thread unfold over the last couple of days. Like everything else you read on the net there is some fact, there is some fiction and there is a little bit of attitude. The bottom line is that we all enjoy Drivers' Ed. Every event organizer approaches things a little differently but I suspect we all have the same goal . . SAFE, SERIOUS, FUN. Pick an event you enjoy and sign up.

I registered over 2000 drivers last season and I only had about a dozen complaints with regard to working . . . and those complaints were from a handful of people. Nevertheless, this thread has certainly given us something to discuss at our Track Operations Meeting on Sunday.

Hope to see you at the track!

Default hijacking is a federal offence.

Wow what a jack job you guys did. This thread should have had nothing to do with NNJR!

Sometimes (OK, more than sometimes) a thread that has fulfilled it original intent heads off in a side track. The original intent was not diluted or subverted it just acted as a seed for another conversation. This is different, I think than a total hijack which kills or interferes with the original intent of the thread. This follows normal human communication patterns. If this topic started on post #2 this would have been a rip-off but 4 pages into a “date and time info” type post it is just conversation. (this post is, on the other hand, a hijack of the hijack)

Z-man, I have a DE this weekend but will email next week. It is good to see positive posts comming in. Often all you hear is the neg however little there is..

Well, lets get it back on track! Have fun at Summit. I know that I'd like to run a Schattenbaum event at Lime Rock this year, so look for me this summer...oops, did that take the thread off track again.

This thread wasn't hijacked, it's just gotten a little off track....

...kinda like if you take T1 @ Summit point too hot and go off track, you'll be sitting up to your axles in that stone field. <-- my attempt to stay on topic! ! !

I have a distinct recollection of a Summit Point event, not sure who organized it but everytime we needed the tow truck, Mr. P ran to the driver's seat. If I come to this event, can I operate the tow truck?

Yeah, that pea gravel at turns 1 & 10 is a bitch. Both of my sons wound up in the turn 10 trap last year (one due to ball joint failure & the other to boiled brake fluid) and we are still finding stones in the garage and in the beads on all their wheels!

Hi Arlene
That's the great thing about Summit Point. Where else can you drive the tow truck? If you come, and it's needed I'll let you drive it.

Pete
