Jim:

Waiting for my seat brackets.

I should have everything ready and will take nice shots then. Maybe even a video.

There is also a NEW GTR demo out with the full Physics realism setting available, AND two new cars:

http://www.fileplanet.com/150154/150...fo/GTR-Demo-#2

"This is the new official demo of GTR, released by developer SimBin Development Team and publisher 10tacle Studios. This surprise for all GTR fan's provides the opportunity to try all difficulty levels, from the pick-up-and-play Arcade Mode, to Semi-Pro Mode and Simulation for the more experienced user. The new demo also shows the outstanding scenery when driving the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa at dusk. Fabulous skies mixed with beautiful cars with bright headlights let you experience a new dimension in racing with amazing battles in the sunset.

For those who have grown tired of the two cars in the previous demo we are pleased to announce that the new demo contains two new cars with the rumbling Saleen S7-R representing the GT class and the irascible Ferrari 360 Modena from the NGT class. They are just waiting for you to sit down behind the wheel."

That would be cool. GT4 is coming out for PS2 next week. It should be pretty fun although not an absolute sim. Unfortunately they don't have Porsches either.

At the Sebring dinner on sat night, Kevin Buckler said he used video games to learn the turns and layout of Le Mans. He said when he first drove it, he saw many similar landmarks.... how cool?!

I've been saying that for years! Most people laugh off videos games as just that.. but the truth is, playing microsoft flightsimulator was a priceless tool for helping me pass my IFR ride in real life. I've been racing around Laguna Seca and Portland in preparation for when I do DE's there. Granted, it's no substitute for seat time, but sims are definately great for practicing procedures and getting familiar with a venue before you go there. Hell, even the majority of new F1 drivers have used EA's F1 games to get to know some of the tracks before they go there for the first time! JV was one of the first guys to do this back in 94/95..

Cool!
My first time playing GTR...very tricky/difficult with keyboard controls but it seems realistic and the audio is amazing! Need to get a wheel for this one...

fileplanet gave me corrupt downloads twice from their "public" servers
Download.com was faster and download worked the first time....

Actually, I recall seeing an interview with Montoya in his first season in F1 and he mentioned that he did the same thing to learn the various F1 tracks prior to joining Williams.

OK guys, I'm getting close. Have all the stuff mounted and have the shifter and clutch working. The only thing I need now is for neutral to work right and to add the head tracking. I should have pics soon.

Have you guys seen the latest Pano? There's an ad for a racing simulator with a $100 PCA discount. I'm a little skeptical.

Wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this?
