Sebring Rollcall for HWFM Racers and Rennlisters
A herd of turtles are migrating to Central Florida and Sebring, along with plenty of other Rennlist contributors, for the first Club Race of the new year.
Here are our Hey Wait For Me Racing teammates, as well as other Rennlist regulars, who I've been able to gather will be at the old bomber base next weekend:
James Achard #712 Black Carrera in E
Manny Alban #53 White C2 in C
Bill Buckens #411 Red 964 in E
Rick Fairweather #182 Red 951S in E
(look for the Big X -- congrats Rick on your first race!)
Phil Gilsdorf #600 Blue/Red 993 Cup in GT2R
Stormin' Norman Goldrich #04 Black 993 GT2 in GT1R
Danny Ilias #360 (get it?) Blue 993 in C
The King Family Racers - Rob and 100 Lbs of Mean - #656 Black 993 in D
Mad Mac McGehee #99 White GT# Cup in GTC3
Jim Newman #141 Yellow 993 Supercup in GTC2
Jeff Phillips co-driving the Enduro in F with the Big Turtle (since he's been rather negligent in his Grid Girl Procurement duties)
Tim Pruitt #29 Blue 924S in I
Wild Bill Walczak #97 Yellow 993 in GT2S
Shawn Young #717 White GT3Cup in GTC3-EX
The Big Turtle hisownself will be in #1, a black 944S2 in F
The Team's Chief Instructor, Eric Cyranski, will be on hand to provide morale support, and pointers on the slow line through any corner.
There are even reports that the esteemed Sebring hotshoe, The Flying Finn, will be on hand to give counterpoint to Eric's pointers.
If you'll be there as well, whether driving or observing or drinking Mac McGehee's beer, please sign in below.
Not sure where the Turtle Pond will be just yet, as my car is going down on the Midwest Eurosport Trailer. But we'll get that figured out, slowly.
This is gonna be a great weekend.

Not on the team, yet... but I'll be there racing, observing, and drinking Mac's beer.
Is this the proper venue to submit my "Hey, Wait For Me" team application?

Skip, so the rumors are true!! Looking forward to seeing everybody at Sebring. If anyone needs a fireman for the Enduro pitstop (non blue group cars) let me know. I am bringing the fire suit/helmet down. Stop by the Midwest Eurosports Transport, Mike,Jeff and I will be there

2) During races I get passed by many lower class cars like I am standing still. As mentioned in the "Sebring Predictions" thread and based on prior experience I offer my skills as the team "rolling chicane".
3) With time and experience, most folks move up to faster class cars. With time and experience, I moved to a slower class car. (see point #2)
3) In the interest of full disclosure, I have taken two class wins in my race career. A third in class and a first in class. However, these wins were under circumstances of high attrition... Believe me when I say all races were finished in true HWFM form at the back of the pack. In fact, I was DFL of all the cars that took the flag when I came in third and was the only car in my class to start when I took first. IOW, due to my sloth technique my car lasted longer than their car (see point #1).
A 6 pack of fine German wheat beer is standing by the fax machine.

We'll be there. My # is actually 712. I'll be selling my wares as well(911 floorboards, 944 exhaust systems, DL-1's, Porsche factory replacement parts etc.) . Stop by for good company and beer!
Cheers, James
