windward performance strikes again
I just got a call from a local independent Porsche shop. They placed a $3,000. order with Windward Performance. Windward asked for a check instead of a credit card which the shop sent. Months have gone by with no parts and check cashed. After many calls windward says they are sending a refund but that has not happened.
The 993 board has several other examples of this. Pano and Excellence keep oiling this machine.
Be advised.

I laugh every time I get a mailing from PCA Club racing and they continue to show Windward as a sponsor... even after they continue to screw the Porsche community.

The first time I heard about Windward was over 10 years ago, and it wasn't a pretty story then either. I guess they just prey on the new and unwary. Perhaps we should start a letter campaign to have them removed from Pano?

Hi Bill,
WOW, Windward is the absolute WORST!!! They are just a bunch of Thieves!!
They ripped me off back in April, never sent the parts but took the money. Have been promising a refund for three months now...
You are right, we need to get PCA national to remove them!!

The people who have lost money and reported it on Rennlist seem to be in the $500.-$3,000. range. If 1 or 2 out of 5 have a attorney collect it Windward is making out pretty well.
The Annapolis Shop that was a recent victim called Pano and was told they had no complaints.

Ok, I officially suggest we get to banging the keyboard and deluge Pano (cc: PCA national) insisting they either address the issue with Windward (pause for wild laughter) or cancel their ad.

Windward sold a friend of mine a stolen 911 rolling chassis. When he fixed it and went to register it with NY DMV they seized it. He ended having to work out a deal with the insurance company that paid on the stolen car to get it back. I know of some others in my PCA region that have had issues with Windward.

If anyone has had any problems, they should call Windward's TOLL FREE number: 800-642-1348.
If anyone has not had any problems but wants to inquire about past, current or future problems, I'm sure Windward wouldn't mind having 300 or so Rennlisters calling.
