Yeah quite good timing and common sense! I was listening to one of their podcasts from last week this morning, and they mentioned it off hand.

^I’ll be interested to learn which tracks will allow it, and if they still require traditional point-by, does that mean lowering your window, pointing by and raising window?

Maybe they require you to roll the window down, hand signal, then roll it up, let the air temp get back down to what it was before, have a medical doctor sign off on you, ignore that sign off, ban you, then 2 years later overturn that ban, and then get on the gas again. Oh, its not a PCA medical event.....

Hah! Any incident reports on windows down other than dirty Alcantara and sweaty clothes?

No he mentioned, novice, intermediate and advanved. I specified advance (black) in my post.

If some one wants to learn full course pass in intermediate they can try Motorsport Enthusist at NJMP. They run pass with point anywhere with a slower group but u dont have to give the pass until u r ready. Its how i upped my awareness game.

Chin operates in the same manner in their intermediate group .

lots of groups do i believe. we run open passing for the highest group and two sessions a weekend we expand that to the next group with specific instructions to practice giving turn signals in the corners in a controlled situation where everyone knows what is happening and has an instructor in car..

I know of groups that encourage specific sessions during the weekend where the group “below” advanced/solo has an instructor for a session, and they practice expanded passing (passing anywhere with a point-by), This builds the skill in a safe way. Usually, other instructors will also be out in the session, driving their car to create passing situations that would be typical of advanced solo run groups. This helps when someone is promoted up into the advanced/solo run group, they’ve had exposure and practice building the skill of expanded passing (the term PCA uses to mean passing anywhere on track with a point-by).

When drivers are promoted into the Adv/solo group without prior practice/exposure to expanded passing, it can be somewhat of a “culture shock” and IMO they generally do better after they’ve had the introduction to the experience (in a controlled manner). It better prepares them for the Adv/solo run group.

Not all regions do this^
