He gets to stand one step down from Alonso unless there is a "Fernando, Lance is faster than you" radio message.

 

There's rumors that AM is angling for a Verstappen bid for 2026 so if it's not Alonso, then it may be Max that will pair with Lance.

You know, you guys are always putting down Lance, but if Max is to pair with him and, assuming Max wins a title this year, it will be Lance who has raced against teammates who are consecutive multi title winners with a total of 10 world championships (Vettel, Alonso, VER). Who else can say that? Haters... LOL

 

Lance raced WDC teammates but didn't come close to beating them. Not really a feather in his cap.

I would not be surprised if Max went to AM.

ESPNF1 reporting the McLaren have enacted team orders for Oscar to support Lando in his WDC title fight. Good to see, but at a minimum one race too late perhaps!

 

Looking forward to Baku- love the track and the city. Would love to see it in person... a friend is a marshall there this weekend- he's going to try to get at or near the castle...

It will be interesting to see the pace of the Red Bull this weekend... any predictions???

Any love for Ferrari this weekend? I know that they quickly go from hero to zero on consecutive weekends when they get a win the week before (hey, 3 wins this year isn’t bad, right?)

In related news, the first volume of the new Foyt bio looks great- just pre-ordered it. And just started the Jim Hall bio- fascinating so far. Will all the talk about Newey lately, I think Hall could have given him a run for his money if they'd been contemporaries (sp?)...

 

Why does Leclerc always crash at turn 15? I think he’s crashed there at Baku every year they ran. Good recovery to go fastest in FP2, but I don’t think they are a threat to win.

Great job by Ollie! And also Colapinto. Heck even Perez was showing some form. This is not my favorite track, but a race is better than no race at all.
