As for multi-class racing, the IMSA WeatherTech Championship is running a full schedule (they began with the Rolex 24 at Daytona In January) with prototypes and GT cars all on track at the same time.
My post was intended solely as satire. Multi-class racing is amazing and I think much more interesting than modern F1 as an example.

I really do have sympathy. I can see it now if I close my eyes tight enough.
- Winning the lottery and bought a $200k superhypercarmachingmobile
- Advanced run group because for obvious reasons
- Got the tires warmed up after 2 laps and come storming down the back straight at Road Atlanta already down 1.6 sec on my PB
- Catching some traffic, see an NC Miata ahead half way down the straight
- Thinking to myself "man that must be a fast miata if its in my run group"
- All of a sudden I have rear ended them because of speed differentials being so unsafe.

And that is why you never let them pass you in such an unsafe car. They clearly have no safety standards.

BTW Stock Turbo S? or did you get a tune for the track day?

Don't be absurd. I will be driving a GT3 Cupcar in my lottery dreams. Why would I drive a bloated highway cruiser like a turbo? All of the magazine track times show it to actually 1.4 seconds slower per lap.

Because with an bloated *** that wide you can apex in the middle of the track which is the fastest line for flat out driving and there still isn't enough room for a dirty miata to sneak a pass through on the inside?

My local PCA chapter (Allegheny) has a combined solo and instructor group that is then self divided into sonic and supersonic. You get to play with equal cars, and everyone normally plays nice.

Checkered came out the next lap.

LOL - seen that happen a few times on long tracks, even against GT3's etc LOL

Some sensible comments around closing speeds, and yes you need to know what's going on at all times. Safety at all times and no risk taking as its just a HPDE, why risk it and go home broken or worse. I recall a Miata in Turn 3 at Sebring months back who gave me an early point by and then decided to sit in the middle of the braking zone, whilst I am on the inside and turned in on me, now that was dangerous even if I was in a similar speed car.

Most sensible PCA drivers know to lift when allowing any type of machinery point by, its those who keep the pedal down on long straights where things can get a little dicey or those race car guys who come to shake down in fast run groups and don't know what a point by is (very common too).
