1.5 seconds over that length track with that high a WOT percentage is phenomenal… Out of proportion to that HP increase and aero improvement. Hence the BoP lead trophy and restrictor/fuel downgrades.

Yup, the new GT4RS is quite the package, move revs, more power/torque, more gears, more aero, more drivable.....more of everything. Plus, the car is a hoot to drive with that additional power/revs and all the Porsches pushed and showed the potential....we were all within a few tenths of a second on the last session. And yes, we were gifted some weight and a smaller restrictor as well but we play the cards we are dealt.
Remember, last year's Cayman GT4 was unrestricted....this year's car, when we ran those 1:52's had a restrictor and added weight, if we you to run the new RS unrestricted without any weight......it would be another second or so quicker, that's amazing!!

The car looks and feels the same but the new motor and gearing are superb!
The car is always in the power band and revs out crazy high. like a 2 stroke dirt bike!
It sounds great!
The Porsches were at that the top of charts and were not shy in showing their potential.
The car no doubt is way faster then the previous car. I ran the Daytona GS race last year in the sole 718 cayman and we were fast but not as fast as we were at this roar test.
I would tend to think that the BMW and Aston were holding back at this Roar test but when you look at their lap times compared to last year they are not far off so perhaps the new cayman is really that much faster then the rest of the field…. We shall see in the race.

Awesome, good luck this weekend! I just started following out of curiosity on the new GT4RS. I didn't know the car is already restricted and with added weight from the get-go.

Always easier to throw a bone than pin it back, but clearly the car is even better than expected.

McCann car (#8) on pole! Great pics.
Looks like a cold, damp race.

Really good result today! Congrats to the RS1 team as well as drivers Eric Filgueras and Stevan MacAleer! Team TGM right in there, too!
