No matter how it did turn out I honestly came to believe Mazapin was going to somehow be involved in how the championship was decided. It was as if God himself plucked Mazapin out of the final race to make sure that didn't happen.

Bull****. Had this happened to Max instead, we’d never hear the end of “Moany” spice Horner’s bitching. Max would be scared of Jos’ (woman) beating hands or of getting abandoned in one of UAE’s gas stations.

At the risk of stirring up more ****, first I want to highly recommend the video sent yesterday:
I've said in earlier posts that in order to get a correct analysis of the controversy it is necessary to understand the rules, rather than just rejoice or lament the outcome. Just after the 10:45 location of the youtube we learn the the rules are clear: 'ANY' cars are to be cleared (ie, allowed to pass the safety car) before a restart, and that MANIFESTLY this did NOT occur. Only the few between Lewis and Max were 'cleared'. That is why Horner said that 'any' is NOT the same as 'all'. Well, Sorry Christian, but ANY does mean ALL.
Others may disagree, but if rules are rules, Masi did not honor the rules. Maybe there is a rule allowing him as race director to overrule the rules at his discretion. If so, someone should please present those words. Until then I feel that, yes indeed, Lewis was ROBBED.

tl;dr, Article 15.3 is an obsolete remnant of a rule, but as originally intended, it does give the race director the authority to operate outside the procedures outlined in the sporting regulations.

Article 15.3 states the Race Director shall have "overriding authority" for the safety car.
