I got Clake'd
#166
I'd be more than happy to just move beyond all this, to be completely honest ...
I will say that I'm content with how PCA responded to the incident; how they interpreted and in turn, responded, to all the video and data feels appropriate - and aligned with my expectation.
The only lingering issue is the question of how I will (or won't) fix the car. I requested a rule proposal be added to the 2022 submissions that would allow for non-metal replacement panels in 911CUP. It'll save me a tremendous amount of $$. And with a set minimum weight, really won't provide any performance benefit. So my fingers are crossed for the moment ...
Post mortem of the car shows that both rear quarters; both fenders; rocker covers;!passenger door; and both bumpers need replacement - which sucks 'cause the car was repainted in 2020.
Mechanically, we're looking at replacing the spring plates, right side trailing arm, rear sway bar, tie rods, and LF shock body. (But I haven't taken everything apart yet to really dive into/inspect it all).

Because I certainly wouldn't stand in front of him 🙄

What year is that car? I have a bunch of stuff from my '87 laying around from before I lightened it and then sold it. I believe it eventually became one of Martinson's cars. Not sure how useful any of it is to you, but a bunch of stock stuff for sure, maybe other parts.

(I certainly don't mind paying for the parts). Let's connect closer to your trip and I'll gladly meet up and make it as convenient for you as possible ...
We're all very lucky to do this hobby. Certainly in the literal sense: of being fortunate enough to be able to balance the expense and time. But even more so for having the good luck in life to be part of a great community!

We don't really expect Clake to pay for the damage. It's a just a bit funny because Clake has been all over JoeT for not paying Stu for an incident with JoeT driving Stu's car. Different situations but close enough for our humor.....
