Default HWFM Racing Bulletin: Our newest teammate

Please welcome Bob_Dallas to our team.

While his application did not come through the usual channels, I assure you his membership is merited.

Bob has proven himself a worthy member of our group through efforts that cannot be revealed without high-level security clearance, or a congressional investigation.

He promised me he is much less capable than his car, and he didn't have his fingers crossed at the time.

He will officially be our Manager, Friction Circle Polishing, but he may perform other uhhhh... duties and ... services - yeah that's it, services - for us from time to time.

He has promised to send Steve the O.F.E. a cyber keg, so Steve, your fax machine should start flowing at any moment.

Hey Mike - thanks for the warm welcome to the team. Looks like a great group and I'm sure I won't have any problems staying at the back of the pack to follow your lines... I've found that I can maximize the G Sum in reverse and still do a nice J Turn for any evasive action...

Mike in Chi:
Now, I have the "HWFMR" bumper sticker (that will proudly be displayed at my autocrosses), and the official HWFM Racing Track shirt (which I get many compliments on). Am I a member, or do I need to go through a hazing process first? (If the hazing process involves calculating the G-sum under an area, then forget it!!)

This is what happens when a group expands to quickly.

If you were not properly hazed, I will have to take this to the executive committee.
I would fire the membership chairman for allowing such oversdight, but that's me.

Can you post any G traces, Z, that we can make fun of?

While I'll never question the covert operations manager, but Mike....a GT-3 and an RS??? I know the two P car rule and all.....ooohhhh....I get it THAT'S what makes him covert! He's really a fast guy w/a turtle t-shirt. Hmmm, I wonder if he put his covert moves on my E car last year.

He's not driving "Alfies" stolen GT-3 is he?

Jeff

There are aspects of the team that are best not known, for fear that nefarious forces will stop at nothing to get that information from you. (Have you ever been forced to sit and listen to G-sum theory? Trust me, after 10 minutes you'll tell them anything they want to know, just so they stop.)

You are correct he qualifies due to the 2 p-car clause.

"I get it THAT'S what makes him covert! He's really a fast guy w/a turtle t-shirt."

Plausible. Or perhaps it's that he's so slow, he's invisible, and therefore covert.

That's what's so mysterious about his section of HWFMR. If you ask questions, all you get is more questions.

Ok, here goes:
We've all seen M. Schumacker's G-sum graph:

Well, here's Color Change's graph:

And, here's mine:

How's that?!?

Aha Phil - I see you've been studying at the Rockford school of driving as well. It's a little more difficult to do with a rear engine car though for some reason...maybe I need to increase my G forces?

Z Man - very impressive graphs - I calculated a G Sum of 7.5 in the lower right corner - I guess that's the new benchmark....

True story on the Micheal's G-Sum graph, I just tried it and it works.

Print it out, put it on your phonograph, play it backwards...all of Ferrari's tuning secrets are right there!

Hilarious, both Z-man and Jeff

Thanks for the laughs late in the day.

Z, those three graphs are enough to get you full membership in HWFM Racing without hazing of any sort.

One question though. Is the middle graph from his first day on the track, the second day or his third and only other day he's ever been on the track.

Jeff

Have you been rolling up your Excel spreadsheets and smoking them again?

That post is too funny, I'm still laughing 20 minutes later.

The sequence of charts is perfect.
