When I was a kid, my mom drove a Sprite. I loved the dash mounted turn signal toggle switch!

In the 3000 it was in the center of the steering wheel IIRC!?! Loved the cars..

Of course, we all knew the motto of the Lucas Electric factory workers: "A hard day's work.....and home before dark!"

I think they were still trafficators rather than turn signals back then

Walter was apparently a pretty good driver but had to give up racing if he wanted to be a star journalist.

The SAAB 2000 turboprop aircraft (regional commuter) has an engine anti-ice system made by Lucas. Yes, that's right. Lucas.

Pilots of that aircraft fondly refer to the system as the Ice Maker. Not so funny when you consider the ramifications of making ice at the intake of a commuter aircraft engine.

The system was basically a wire mesh embedded in the surface of the engine inlet with composite materials. What could go wrong?

Interesting watching the Monaco part. The cars back in those days were so narrow and small that passing on that circuit actually worked.
