24 Hours of Lemons at NJMP and a few crashes
I cannot believe we made it. This fantastic little ****box endured 14 hours of absolutely brutal racing. We were one of the fastest cars out there, but due to some cooling issues we plummeted down in the rankings. Still, 58 out of 131 isn’t bad for our first entry into endurance racing.
Our team's (my) fast lap was 1:23 but that's with 3/4 of a tank and lots of traffic. I bet this thing could get into the teens with an open track.
I had front row seats for this one, it looked just as bad in person.
Bad pass on the straight, 666 goes for a ride. Both drivers were fine.
These guys in the orange e36 were driving like total morons the whole weekend.
Glad they crashed, just sad to see them take out these poor guys in the focus.
Few things worth mentioning:
- Raysbestos ST-43 pads are the ****ing truth. We hammered on these things for 14 hours and they look brand new. Unlike carbotech pads, they didn't rape the rotors. Worth every penny of that $250
- Falken 615's are excellent budget tires if you need that 200 treadwear rating. Ours were 530 for a set from Tire Rack (picked up in DE for no tax and the $40 discount). They're still have 1/2-1/3 life left
Our car: 02 330i. We're John Player Special Ed

That's incredible. The orange car, all four wheels in the grass, wow! Bad decision there...

The JPS Ed is a beautiful car, prayers that it stays that way. Lemons is fun, just have to have eyes in the back of your head!

I realize lemons is a ****show but, in retrospect, I think it's more fun than spec miata. You get so much practice overtaking and watching your surroundings that it really sharpens your race craft and situational awareness.
Yes, there was action taken against the orange e36. I don't know specifics but they got what they deserved.
Thanks, but it's only beautiful from 10ft away, the rear 1/4's and rockers are pretty rusted. We had to replace the rear floorpans before we could mount the main hoop for the cage

WTF did that orange car think they were doing?
Those both looked like fairly hard hits.
I know people love Lemons (and some take it VERY seriously) but how long will it be until someone gets killed?
