Macau Crash...

Just horrible. Looked more like complete brake failure -- car was flying much faster than the rest of the field. Or perhaps it went airborne over the brake-check car in front so never had the chance to brake. Open wheel racing on narrow walled streets is a recipe for disaster. I know, Monaco, but still...

Holy crap, I can't believe no one got killed in that accident. I wish the driver a full recovery.

That’s a fatal incident 10/20 years ago. Completely bonkers. Thank God she didn’t end up in the casino through the windows.
This is might be the end of racing in Macau. Guess we’ll see.

No, too much history, too much factory involvement, too many hungry drivers wanting to use it as a showcase for their talents.
Too bad it’s such a lottery.

Certainly modern car technology played a role, but there is a lot of genuine luck in that incident... there could have easily been multiple fatalities. That temporary structure that the car hit was very flexible and had a lot of empty space. Had that been an actual building it would have been much worse. As for the other people injured, it is just a sheer lottery that they weren't in a slightly different spot where they may have been struck fatally.
The speed of her car relative to the rest was unreal

Can't believe no one was killed, either at the corner or the driver!! Yes, the speed she went off at- scary. All I could think of either Krosnoff or Moore, or Wickens for that matter. Her exit speed even looked worse. Can't imagine what would have happened if she had gone into the crowd- you wouldn't have street races anymore.
